Jerusalem, Israel - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he will discuss Iran's nuclear threats and the next phase of the US-backed Gaza plan during his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump. The talks are set to take place in Washington next week. Netanyahu made the announcement at a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides in Jerusalem. The event marked the strengthening of ties between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus, which share concerns over Turkey's growing influence in the region. Regarding Iran, Netanyahu said that Israel is aware of recent military exercises conducted by the country, including missile drills in various cities. Western powers view Iran's ballistic missile arsenal as a significant threat to regional stability, particularly if Tehran were to develop nuclear capabilities. Iran denies any intention to build atomic bombs. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is not seeking confrontation with Iran, but rather stability, prosperity, and peace. However, he also stated that the focus of his discussions with Trump will be on moving forward with the Gaza plan and dealing with Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah militants. In addition to regional security, the three leaders also discussed economic cooperation, including a proposal to connect India to Europe via the Middle East by sea and rail. They also agreed to advance an undersea power cable project to integrate their electricity grids with Europe and the Arabian Peninsula. The trilateral meeting comes at a critical time, with Netanyahu stating that there are countries working to undermine regional stability. The meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening ties between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus, and highlights their shared commitment to regional security and economic cooperation.
