Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again credited US President Donald Trump with resolving the India-Pakistan conflict in May, which India maintains was a bilateral agreement. According to Sharif, Trump's 'bold and decisive leadership' led to a ceasefire between the two nations, averting a major war and saving millions of people. In a recent address at Azerbaijan's Victory Day parade, Sharif praised Trump's role in mediating the conflict, saying it restored peace in South Asia. However, India has consistently denied any third-party intervention, contradicting Pakistan's claims. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Pakistan has continued to praise Trump for brokering a ceasefire, despite India's denial of any external involvement. Sharif also used the opportunity to mention Kashmir, drawing parallels with Azerbaijan's victory in Karabakh. He emphasized Pakistan's commitment to peace, but reiterated that it will not compromise on sovereignty or territorial integrity. The parade featured contingents from Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan, and included a flypast of JF-17 Thunder jets.
