Pinterest users woke up to a frustrating morning on Thursday as the platform experienced a massive outage, leaving thousands of users unable to access their accounts. According to Downdetector, over 1,600 people reported issues with the app, with 87% of complaints related to the app itself. The outage affected major cities on both the East and West Coasts, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. Downdetector reported that the problems began at 3:14 pm EST. Users took to social media to express their frustration, with some even joking about their heartbreak. 'Why is Pinterest down rn...?' and 'Pinterest went down :' were just a couple of the many comments on X. Some users reported being logged out of their accounts, while others received the 'authorization failed' message when trying to log in. Although the cause of the outage remains unknown, users are trying to troubleshoot the issue by resetting their passwords and clearing their browser cache. However, experts suggest that these quick fixes may not be effective in resolving the problem, which seems to be on Pinterest's end. The company has yet to issue an official statement or explanation for the outage.
