Rob Reiner's Son Charged with Murder: Death Penalty Looms in LA
Prosecutors in Los Angeles have filed murder charges against Nick Reiner for his involvement in the death of his parents – Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Los Angeles prosecutors have charged Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of actor Rob Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing deaths of his parents, Michele Singer Reiner and Rob Reiner. The couple was found dead in their Brentwood home on December 14, and Nick was arrested hours later after his sister Romy expressed concerns about his behavior to investigators. According to District Attorney Nathan Hochman, Nick will be formally charged and enter a plea after he is medically cleared. If convicted, he faces either life without parole or the death penalty. Hochman has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty. Nick is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, where he is also on suicide watch. An arraignment hearing has been scheduled for a later date, following his initial appearance in court on December 16.
