Russia's first artificial intelligence-powered humanoid robot, AIdol, made a dramatic debut in Moscow this week, tripping and falling on stage during its first public appearance. The incident, caught on camera, has gone viral on social media platforms. The robot's introduction at a technology event on Monday was meant to showcase its capabilities, but it lost its balance and crashed onto the floor, leaving behind several pieces. Event staff quickly covered the robot with a black cloth and dragged it off the stage. According to its developers, AIdol operates on a 48-volt battery and contains 77% Russian-made components, with a goal of increasing this figure to 93% in future models. Equipped with 19 servomotors, the robot can display a range of emotions and expressions. While the incident has been met with ridicule and criticism, the company sees it as a valuable learning experience. 'This mistake will turn into an experience,' said Vladimir Vitukhin, CEO of Russian robotics firm Idol. 'This is real-time learning, when a good mistake turns into knowledge, and a bad mistake turns into experience.' The incident has sparked a wave of reactions online, with some users defending the effort and others mocking the robot's clumsy gait. However, the company remains optimistic, citing the importance of perseverance and learning from mistakes in the field of robotics.
