A devastating truck crash in a bustling South Korean market has left at least two people dead and 18 others injured. The accident occurred on Thursday in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, when a speeding truck crashed into a row of shops at a traditional market. According to eyewitnesses and CCTV footage, the truck, which sped out of control for 150 meters, accelerated towards the market before crashing into one of the stores. Emergency officials stated that the truck reversed for 28 meters before the sudden acceleration. The driver, who claimed that the sudden acceleration caused the accident, was not intoxicated or under the influence at the time of the crash. Authorities have taken the vehicle into custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. This tragic incident comes just weeks after a power plant collapse in the Ulsan region, which killed at least three people. The collapse, which occurred while workers were dismantling the structure, led to a massive rescue operation involving heat sensors, remote scopes, and search dogs.
