A powerful tornado tore through central Houston on Monday, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Originating in Cypress, the twister moved northeast, passing through the Willowbrook area and eventually striking Jersey City. Photos and videos on social media captured the aftermath, showing uprooted trees, damaged power poles, and structural damage. The storm was part of a larger severe weather event, driven by a low-pressure system that brought strong winds, Gulf moisture, and instability to the region. Multiple areas in Texas were under tornado warnings on Monday, including the Brazos Valley, Houston Metro, and East Texas Pineywoods. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado watch for the Houston metro area until 7:00 PM CST. The initial warning covered several counties, including Harris, Montgomery, Waller, and Fort Bend. However, warnings were later cancelled for Harris and Montgomery County. The situation is being closely monitored, and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
