According to the National Weather Service, the watch will remain in effect until 10 pm on Friday night. The affected areas include most of middle Tennessee, southern Kentucky, and northern Alabama. In Tennessee, counties such as Dickson, Fairview, and Ashland City are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 4:30 pm, with the potential for damaging winds and large hail. A supercell near Dickson, Tennessee, has been warned for damaging winds and large hail, but a tornado threat is not currently a concern. However, the storm is entering an environment that may become more conducive to tornadic storms. In Alabama, counties such as Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, and Jackson are at risk of severe weather. Meanwhile, counties in Tennessee that could be impacted include Bedford, Bledsoe, and 43 other counties. The National Weather Service warns that a line of showers and thunderstorms is pushing into the area, with some storms potentially becoming severe with wind and hail as the primary threats. A low tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay weather aware and monitor local news for updates on the situation. The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
