A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll has revealed a significant decline in President Donald Trump's approval ratings, dipping to 38%. This marks the lowest point since his re-election. The drop comes as Americans express dissatisfaction with the President's handling of the high cost of living and the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The poll, conducted online among 1,017 US adults, revealed a two-percentage-point decline in Trump's overall approval since early November. Notably, his approval rating among Republicans has dropped from 87% to 82%. The survey also found that only 26% of Americans believe Trump is effectively managing the cost of living, down from 29% earlier this month. Conversely, 65% of respondents, including one-third of Republicans, disapprove of his performance on this issue. Experts warn that Trump's declining popularity could impact Republicans in the upcoming congressional elections. However, the poll suggests that voters still trust the Republican Party's approach to economic policy. The Epstein case continues to be a point of contention, with only 20% of Americans, including 44% of Republicans, approving of Trump's handling of the situation. A significant majority of respondents believe the government is withholding information about Epstein's clients. The release of over 20,000 pages of Epstein's emails and messages has reignited the public's focus on the President's relationship with the late sex offender. Trump has responded by claiming that Democrats are attempting to deflect attention from their own failures on the shutdown and other issues.
