The White House has come to the defense of US President Donald Trump's recent outbursts against two female journalists from ABC News and Bloomberg. Trump has publicly clashed with ABC News correspondent Mary Bruce and Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey over their questions in the Oval Office and on Air Force One. The incidents began when Bruce asked Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about the murder of a dissident journalist and Trump's family business dealings. Trump responded by telling her not to 'embarrass our guest' and threatened to suspend ABC's broadcast license, calling her a 'terrible reporter.' Later, Trump clashed with Lucey over the administration's reluctance to release information on Jeffrey Epstein, calling her 'Quiet, Piggy.' In response to the controversy, a White House official anonymously told AFP news agency that Lucey had behaved 'in an inappropriate and unprofessional way towards her colleagues.' The official added that Trump was simply standing up for himself and saying 'if you're going to give it, you have to be able to take it.' The White House has further defended Trump with a fact sheet highlighting examples of what it describes as 'a deliberate deception to wage war' on Trump and his supporters over the last 8 years.
