A team of UK medical experts has arrived in Bangladesh to assess the treatment of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who remains in a critical condition at a private hospital in Dhaka. Zia's personal physician, AZM Zahid Hossain, confirmed the visit, stating that the UK specialists will join an international medical board already overseeing her care. The board, comprising doctors from the UK, the US, and Bangladesh, is continuously monitoring Zia's condition. A five-member Chinese team arrived on Monday and met with the medical board, while other countries including India, China, the US, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan have offered medical assistance. Despite the efforts to treat her, Zia's condition has worsened, and she was placed on ventilation on Sunday night. To ensure her safety, security has been tightened around the hospital, with police deploying over two dozen personnel to regulate patient movement and reinforce security. The Bangladesh government has declared Zia a "very, very important person," allowing the deployment of the Special Security Force for her protection. Special prayers for her recovery are being held across the country, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over her health, offering all possible support. Zia's son and BNP acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from across Bangladesh and abroad. The BNP Standing Committee member, Salahuddin Ahmed, has announced that Rahman will return to Bangladesh soon. Zia, the three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh, was admitted to the hospital on November 23 after being diagnosed with infections affecting her heart and lungs. Her condition has been a source of concern for the nation, with many supporters taking to social media to post prayers and messages wishing her a swift recovery.
