A fire broke out on a trolley transporting staff between the Rayburn House Office building and the US Capitol in Washington DC on Thursday, injuring one person. According to ABC7 News, the incident has been identified as an electrical fire, which has since been extinguished by firefighters. The blaze led to road closures and prompted a massive response from emergency services. Visuals from the scene showed numerous fire trucks and firefighters working to control the situation. The injured person received minor treatment at the scene, as no one else on board the trolley was affected. The Capitol Police confirmed that the fire had been brought under control, but crews continued to clear smoke from the area. The trolley, which operates under the US Capitol grounds, is one of three lines serving members of Congress and their staff. The particular line under the Rayburn building has been in operation since the 1960s, according to the Architect of the Capitol.
