The US government is streamlining the visa process for international soccer fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in 11 American cities. The expedited process aims to simplify the experience for foreign visitors, who can now expect a 60-day wait time or less for visa issuance. According to President Donald Trump, this move is expected to generate an estimated $30 billion and create 200,000 jobs. With over 1 million tickets already sold to fans from 212 countries, FIFA President Gianni Infantino predicts that 5-10 million people will flock to the US for the matches. The US State Department has increased the number of consular officers by 400, doubling the presence in certain countries to facilitate the visa process. Fans with tickets will receive more information about the prioritized visa appointment system in early 2026.
