In a secretive effort, the United States and Russia are collaborating on a 28-point plan to bring an end to the Ukraine conflict. According to Axios, citing US and Russian officials, the plan draws inspiration from Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan. The initiative, led by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, aims to establish peace in Ukraine, provide security guarantees, ensure European security, and redefine US relations with Russia and Ukraine. While the details of the plan are still unclear, a Russian official expressed optimism about the prospects of a successful deal. The plan is said to address major issues, including Russia's territorial control in eastern Ukraine. Russian Envoy Kirill Dmitriev discussed the plan extensively with Witkoff and other Trump administration officials during a recent visit to Miami. Dmitriev emphasized that the plan goes beyond resolving the Ukraine conflict, focusing on restoring ties between Russia and the US, and providing lasting security to Europe. A Ukrainian official confirmed awareness of the plan, and the US has begun briefing European officials about the new initiative. This development comes as Trump seeks to end the Ukraine war following the Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which yielded no tangible outcome.
