Iran's IRGC Intelligence Chief 'Martyred' in US Strike: Who Was Majid Khademi?

Major General Majid Khademi, a senior Iranian intelligence official, was killed in a US airstrike, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Khademi, who headed the IRGC's Intelligence Protection Organisation and Intelligence Organisation, died in a targeted American strike at dawn, the IRGC said.

He was a brigadier general with doctorates in national security and strategic defence sciences, and had held various roles within the IRGC, including a possible successor to its head, Hossein Taeb.

Khademi was appointed head of the IRGC's Intelligence Protection Organisation in 2022 and became head of the IRGC's Intelligence Organisation in June 2025, succeeding Mohammad Kazemi.

The US and Israel's war on Iran has entered its second month, with several top Iranian officials killed in strikes, including supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and security chief Ali Larijani.
