Iran's powerful intelligence chief, Major General Majid Khademi, has been killed in US-Israeli strikes, the latest in a series of high-profile assassinations targeting top Iranian officials.

The Revolutionary Guard confirmed Khademi's death, blaming the US and Israel for the 'criminal terrorist attack.'

Israel's defence minister, Israel Katz, warned that the country would continue to hunt down Iran's top leaders, saying 'we will continue to crush the Iranian national infrastructure.'

Khademi's killing comes as the war in the Middle East continues to escalate, with Iran's steel and petrochemical industries severely damaged in recent strikes.

He is the latest in a long list of top Iranian officials to be targeted by the US and Israel, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top security official Ali Larijani.
