A forensic expert has proposed a chilling theory that Nancy Guthrie's abduction may have been linked to a 'revenge' plot. The 84-year-old mother of 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson home on February 1.
Dr. Ann Burgess, a researcher, suggested that Nancy may have been kidnapped as an act of retribution, citing the presence of blood at the scene. 'I think something went very wrong inside the house,' she said.
Dr. Burgess wondered if someone in Nancy's orbit, possibly a family member or friend, could have been motivated by a desire for revenge. 'Something could have come up there that we don't know about, and that's up to people in her orbit to figure out,' she said.
Months after her disappearance, there has been no update on Nancy's whereabouts, and no suspect has been identified. The Guthrie family remains uncertain about the case's outcome, with Savannah previously acknowledging that her mother may be dead.
