After 10 days in space, the astronauts of Artemis II are preparing for the most critical phase of their journey - returning to Earth.
The reentry is widely considered one of the most dangerous parts of any space mission, with the Orion spacecraft moving at 25,000 miles per hour and the heat shield protecting the astronauts from extreme heat.
NASA has admitted the heat shield is not perfect, but has changed the reentry plan to reduce risk and limit cracking.
The agency remains confident in the modified plan, which includes a 'loft' trajectory and a post-splashdown inspection of the heat shield.
