A Pakistani citizen, Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, has pleaded guilty to planning a massive attack on US soil, targeting a prominent Jewish centre in Brooklyn, New York.

Khan, 21, was arrested in September 2024 and extradited to the US, where he was charged with attempting to leave Canada to commit an offence for a terrorist group and participating in the activities of a terrorist group.

According to a complaint filed against Khan, he discussed 'coordinated attacks' in India and wanted to time the attacks to coincide with the anniversary of the October 7th Hamas attacks, with the explicit goal of killing as many Jews as possible.

Khan planned to illegally enter the United States and conduct the 'ISIS-inspired attack', which he boasted could be the largest attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.
