Adhikari's family, including his parents, were also present at the ceremony, with his mother expressing her pride and hope for her son's future as Chief Minister.

The BJP secured 207 seats in the 294-member assembly, ending the Trinamool Congress's 15-year rule and scripting its most significant electoral breakthrough in eastern India.
