Raja Shivaji, the historical drama starring Riteish Deshmukh, has collected ₹2.40 crore in India on its second Monday, taking its domestic collection to ₹70.65 crore net. The film, which opened on May 1, witnessed a strong jump in collections during its second weekend and ended its first week with ₹52.65 crore.
The film, which features a cameo by Salman Khan as Jiva Mahala, is performing better in Marathi than in Hindi. Riteish Deshmukh, the writer, director, and star of the film, said that his actor friends from the Hindi film industry came on board for the movie purely out of love and respect and without charging a penny.
Raja Shivaji is the third-highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, and it opened to mixed reviews. The film is produced by Genelia D'Souza and Jyoti Deshpande under Mumbai Film Company and Jio Studios.
