Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has been planning an Indian adaptation of Harry Potter for a long time, and World Harry Potter Day has reignited his passion. He believes AI has made it easier to bring his vision to life, saying, "In the explosive world of AI, it's easier to create stories into visual ideas and magic." Kapur's inspiration for the series came from his childhood, where he grew up believing in everything magical. He wants to create a version that is uniquely Indian, derived from the magical world he experienced as a kid.
Kapur also spoke about the need for a change in the current political system, citing India's huge population and the fact that the constitution was created for people with limited aspirations. He believes that the system will fight back with inertia, using the recent Uttarakhand floods as an example.
