The NWS initially said Florence, Erlanger, and Burlington were under a tornado warning until 1:00am ET, later noting 'This is now a radar confirmed tornado. Seek shelter now!!!!'

A meteorologist shared updates, noting the tornado formed near Aurora before heading towards Florence and Burlington, and shared a map showing the tornado's path.

Reports indicate the tornado caused damage in the Florence Mall area, with power outages also reported in the region.

Residents shared scary visuals online, including a video of tornado sirens going off and a photo from a traffic cam showing intense winds.

The extent of the damage is not yet known, but the fear among people in the area is palpable amid reports of the tornado touchdown in Florence.
