US Senator Chris Murphy has criticized President Donald Trump's warning to Oman, saying it's another sign that the Iran conflict has 'gone off the rails.'

Murphy, a close ally of Oman, said the Trump administration is in 'constant panic mode' and making 'mistake after mistake.'

The warning came after Trump said that Oman would 'behave' or face the consequences, adding that the US would 'blow them up' if necessary.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also warned that Washington would 'aggressively' target any actors involved in facilitating tolls for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump described the Strait of Hormuz as 'international waters' that cannot be controlled by any one country, and said the US would 'watch over it.'
