The Income Tax Department has raised questions over Udhayanidhi Stalin's financial disclosures after discovering a missing ₹7.36 crore investment in his 2026 election affidavit.
The Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister had declared the investment in film production company Red Giant Movies in 2021, but it's now absent in his latest affidavit.
The I-T Department has sought additional time to conduct a detailed verification, citing unavailability of key financial documents.
The department also flagged discrepancies in loan disclosures by Stalin, with borrowings of approximately ₹17.69 crore not reflected in his affidavits.
The high court has granted four weeks to the I-T department to file a detailed report.
