Delhi Airport Paralysed: 130 Flights Cancelled, 8 Diverted Amid Dense Fog

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport was severely affected by dense fog on Monday, with 128 flights cancelled and eight diverted. The airport's operations were being conducted under CAT III procedures, which allow aircraft to land safely in extremely low visibility. According to FlightRadar24 data, at least 178 departures and 69 arrivals were delayed at the IGI Airport. Several airlines, including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet, issued advisories urging passengers to check their flight status and allow extra time for their journey. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted dense to very dense fog for parts of north India over the next few days, with fog likely to persist during night and early morning hours. An orange alert has been issued for Delhi on December 29, with the maximum temperature expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 7 degrees Celsius. Delhi airport authorities have assured passengers that ground teams are actively assisting passengers to ensure a smooth travel experience. However, the disruptions have caused inconvenience to many, with rail services also being affected by the low visibility. Passengers are advised to check their flight status and plan their journey accordingly.
