The DMK has hit out at the TVK government over DVAC raids on the residences of former minister EV Velu, calling it a move to exact revenge on those who work for the welfare of the people.
EV Velu claimed that the raids were conducted solely based on the questions he asked the Chief Minister in the Assembly, and that the ruling government thinks that the DMK will get scared.
However, TVK minister A Rajmohan said that the action has been taken based on proper grounds and evidence, and that Velu is caught with solid evidence.
The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption registered a case against Velu, 10 department officials, and a private contracting firm for their alleged involvement in a multi-crore road construction fraud.
