India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with counterparts from Russia, France, and the EU to coordinate positions on the Iran-US conflict in West Asia.

Jaishankar shared India's assessments on the conflict with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who emphasized the need for 'prompt normalisation' of the situation.

The two ministers backed the contribution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and Brics to de-escalating the situation and creating conditions for a sustainable settlement.

Jaishankar also discussed the conflict with EU Foreign and Security Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov spoke to Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who emphasized his country's determination to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Araghchi condemned the US and Israel's military aggression against Iran and called for the UN Security Council to address the 'blatant violation of international peace and security'.
