Marching contingents from the Indian army and navy, along with two warships, will participate in Seychelles' 50th National Day celebrations in Victoria on Monday, highlighting the growing security cooperation between the two nations.

The participation of Indian armed forces in foreign national celebrations symbolizes mutual trust, military camaraderie, and a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, the army said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the celebrations as the guest of honor, marking the golden jubilee of Seychelles' independence. Modi recently handed over a patrol vessel to Seychelles to bolster collective security and surveillance mechanisms in the region.

The Indian Army contingent consists of 32 personnel from the Assam Regiment, led by Captain Aryan H Deolekar. An Indian Navy marching contingent accompanied by a military band is also participating, reflecting the close defense partnership between the two countries.

Indian warships Tarkash and Ikshak are participating in the celebrations, reinforcing defense cooperation and underscoring India's role as a reliable partner in promoting peace, stability, and security in the Indian Ocean Region.
