UN Climate Conference (COP30) president André Aranha Corrêa do Lago has announced that India is at the heart of global strategies to execute the $1.3 trillion climate finance blueprint.

The upcoming documents, set to be released ahead of November, focus on implementation rather than negotiation and detail how to transition from fossil fuels and end deforestation by 2030.

Lago stated that India is 'absolutely essential' in the implementation of the climate finance plan, which includes transitioning away from fossil fuels and ending deforestation by 2030.

The High-Level Empowered Board on Green Transition, launched at India's Raisina Dialogue 2026, will handle emerging-market pathways and define climate finance under the UNFCCC.

The board, chaired by economist NK Singh, will define climate finance via quarterly workshops running through March 2027.
