Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 : Phase 1 Witnessed Impressive Voter Turnout
The first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections concluded peacefully, with around 66% voting recorded till 5 pm. Kharsawan took the lead with an impressive 77% voting percentage.
This phase saw 43 constituencies across 15 districts cast their ballots, determining the fate of 683 candidates.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar noted that the voting percentage may increase as reports from remote areas are yet to come in.
The contest in Jharkhand is between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led INDIA bloc and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
