Mumbai Police have taken cognisance of a viral video showing a woman being allegedly harassed by an auto driver. The video, posted on Instagram by the woman, shows her stepping out of the auto after the driver made questionable remarks.
Many netizens have come forward to help identify the auto's registration number and demand strict action against the driver.
Despite reaching out to the woman, she has chosen to remain anonymous.
This incident raises concerns about women's safety in Mumbai, which was ranked as one of the safest cities for women in 2025, according to the National Annual Report and Index on Women's Safety.
