Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu was sworn in as the lieutenant governor (LG) of Delhi, calling for a "solution-oriented approach" to address the city's challenges.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta welcomed Sandhu, saying the government looked forward to working under his guidance.
Sandhu, a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, emphasized the need for cooperation among all stakeholders, citing his own experience working in Delhi.
He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national vision, saying Delhi's elected government and stakeholders had a responsibility to turn challenges into opportunities.
Sandhu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier in the day to discuss governance and public service issues.
