The opposition has hit out at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over his Parliament speech last year, where he claimed no Indian soldiers were harmed during Operation Sindoor.

The government has since released the names of six military personnel who died during the operation, sparking a row over Singh's remarks.

The Congress has accused Singh of misleading Parliament and concealing the martyrdom of the soldiers.

The Ministry of Defence has clarified that Singh's remarks were taken out of context and that he was responding to a specific narrative that Indian pilots had died during the operation.

The names of the six military personnel who died during Operation Sindoor are Subedar Major Pawan Kumar, Rifleman Sunil Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, Agniveer Murali Naik, Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh, and Indian Air Force Sergeant Surendra Kumar.
