Senior Journalist Of Gujarat Mahesh Langa Arrested for GST Fraud case
The Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested Mahesh Langa, a senior journalist of Gujarat from "The Hindu" newspaper for alleged GST-related fraud.
The Central GST department complained about suspicious transactions involving over 200 fake companies, using forged identities and documents to evade duties.
14 locations in Ahmedabad, Junagadh, Surat, Kheda, and Bhavnagar were raided by The Crime Branch recovering Rs 20 lakh cash, Gold jewelry, Land papers.
Forged documents in Langa's wife and father's names were used for suspicious transactions. Initial findings suggest a large-scale conspiracy to defraud the government of crores of rupees through Fake billing,Fraudulent documentation, Misrepresentation.
The crime branch registered an FIR against Mahesh Langa, Dhruvi Enterprise, Om Construction, Raj Infra, Haresh Construction Company, DA Enterprise.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajit Rajian stated that Langa was arrested after detailed questioning.
