Severe Cyclonic Storm to Make Landfall in Tamil Nadu Tonight
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a severe cyclonic storm is expected to make landfall in north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram, close to Puducherry, tonight.The landfall is expected to start at 8:30 pm and will continue until 11:30 pm, with wind speeds of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph.
North Coastal Tamil Nadu and parts of Puducherry are expected to be significantly affected, with heavier rains predicted.Chennai will experience moderate rainfall in short bursts, with breaks in between.Cheyyur is already experiencing severe weather conditions, while Pondicherry is seeing heavy rainfall as the cyclone moves closer.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and follow evacuation orders, if any, to ensure their safety.
