Pune police probing the suspected murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort said Siya Goyal's brother Sahil knew about her relationship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary.
Sahil advised Siya to end the relationship as she was engaged to Ketan, who died after falling from the fort on June 18.
Siya and Chetan have been arrested and are in police custody, with investigators questioning Sahil for over two hours.
According to investigators, Sahil and Chetan became acquainted through cricket in 2024, following which Chetan befriended Siya.
The probe has intensified after police found that the accused had deleted phone chats and emptied recycle bins before and after the crime.
Siya's mother claimed her daughter had initially refused to accompany Ketan to Lohagad Fort, but agreed after his mother persuaded her during a video call on June 17.
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured the family of full support, approved a fast-track court for the case, and accepted the family's request to appoint senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam as special public prosecutor.
