Dialogue Over Violence: A Path to Constitutional Rights

In a significant step towards peace, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, Chairman of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), met with leaders of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and RBA who have renounced violence and rejoined the mainstream. Emphasizing the importance of dialogue, he stated that the path of violence has been given up and now is the time to ask for constitutional rights through peaceful means.
However, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma expressed concerns about the current situation in Bangladesh, particularly statements made by leaders like Professor Muhammad Yunus, which he believes may destabilize Northeast India. He urged Indian leaders and the government to prevent elements that sponsor violence, possibly through ISI, to ensure peace in the region.
His efforts focus on facilitating the safe return of NLFT and RBA members to mainstream life, enabling them to live with dignity. As the leader of the Tipra Motha Party, he has been advocating for the rights of Indigenous Tripuri people and working towards a constitutional solution to safeguard their identity, culture, and socio-economic conditions. By promoting dialogue and constitutional means, Debbarma aims to bring lasting peace and stability to the region.
