Akshay Bhatia Set to Headline Hero Indian Open

The rising US golf star of Indian origin will play in the DP World Tour event, to be played in Gurugram from March 26-29

New Delhi: Indian golf sensation Akshay Bhatia is set to headline the Hero Indian Open, a DP World Tour event to be played at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram from March 26-29.

Bhatia, who has risen to a career-best world No.19, will be the main attraction at the tournament, which has seen a prize purse increase to $2.55 million.

The 24-year-old American golfer of Indian origin has been in red-hot form, winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in a playoff and has two top 10 finishes this season.

Bhatia will be joined by a stellar field of international players, including Francesco Molinari, Eugenio Chacarra, and Thomas Detry, as well as India's finest professionals, including Veer Ahlawat and Manu Gandas.
