Football legend Lionel Messi is set to embark on a four-city tour of India, starting December 12. This will be his second visit to the country, following a friendly match in Kolkata in 2011. The tour, titled 'G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025,' promises to be an exciting experience for fans, featuring a mix of football, cultural events, and charity initiatives. Messi's itinerary includes a meet-and-greet session in Kolkata, where he will attend a sponsor-exclusive event featuring an Argentine-Indian fusion food festival. Due to security concerns, the unveiling of his 70-foot statue will be done virtually from his hotel. A 25 ft x 20 ft Messi mural, created for the Durga Puja season, will also be unveiled on the same day. In Hyderabad, Messi will attend the Hyderabad GOAT Cup at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, featuring a celebrity match, masterclass for young players, penalty shootouts, and a musical concert. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to attend the event. In Mumbai, Messi will participate in a charity auction, featuring select memorabilia from Argentina's 2022 World Cup triumph. He will also walk the ramp in a philanthropic fashion show, where he will reunite with long-time strike partner Luis Suárez and Argentina midfielder Rodrigo De Paul. The tour concludes in New Delhi, where Messi will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. He will also felicitate Minerva Academy's youth team, which won three major European titles earlier this year, and participate in a celebrity match. The 'G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025' promises to be a memorable experience for fans, with over 70,000 expected to attend the stadium event in Kolkata. The tour is a testament to Messi's popularity and philanthropic efforts, and is expected to leave a lasting impact on Indian football culture.
