India has yet to decide on fuel supply requests from Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka as domestic demand takes priority, the external affairs ministry said.

Requests for fuel supply were made amid disruptions in global energy supplies following the Israel-US war against Iran.

India has received requests for 5,000 additional tonnes of diesel from Bangladesh and has 22 Indian-flagged merchant vessels located to the west of the Strait of Hormuz carrying 320,000 metric tonnes of LPG, 200,000 metric tonnes of LNG, and 1.67 million metric tonnes of crude oil.

Indian warships are present in the area for anti-piracy operations, and the Indian embassy in Iran is helping citizens relocate to safer locations.

More than 700 Indian nationals have moved from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent days.
