Batman is set for one of his toughest battles yet in the upcoming animated trilogy 'Knightfall,' based on the iconic comic storyline. The first trailer has been released, showcasing the Dark Knight facing off against his entire rogues' gallery after a mass breakout at Arkham Asylum orchestrated by Bane.
The animated event, which is set for a multi-chapter release in 2026, follows Batman as he is pushed to his physical and mental limits. The story brings together many of Batman's most famous villains, including Bane, Firefly, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, the Joker, and Two-Face.
The trailer also teases Jean-Paul Valley becoming the new Batman, complete with his classic 1990s-style Batsuit. The story is based on 'one of the most iconic and beloved runs in the rich history of Batman comics,' and is directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams.
Batman: Knightfall is a three-part R-rated animated adaptation of the classic 1993 comic book storyline, and is expected to debut on digital and home entertainment later in 2026.
