McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma, has issued a strong statement rebuffing the attention it's receiving following the release of Netflix's true-crime documentary, Maternal Instinct.
The documentary deals with the gruesome murder committed by Taylor Parker, who was taken to the hospital after committing the crime.
Parker killed a 36-week pregnant woman, Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock, in a chilling fetal abduction in New Boston, Texas, and is now awaiting execution.
The hospital has made it clear that the Taylor Parker case is not a source of entertainment and has requested respect for those affected, including the family, staff, and community.
McCurtain Memorial Hospital provides emergency care, inpatient, and outpatient services to the community in southeastern Oklahoma.
