Tamil Nadu's upcoming 2026 election season is heating up, with several prominent actors and politicians taking center stage. At a recent event in Kerala, Kamal Haasan, founder of the centrist party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), was asked about his rival, Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). In a surprising response, Haasan identified his true enemy as casteism, which he believes is a more pressing issue than his political opponents. When questioned about offering advice to Vijay, who formed his party in 2024, Haasan humbly declined, citing his own lack of experience and potential biases. He emphasized the importance of learning from experience, rather than seeking advice from others. The comments come as both Haasan and Vijay prepare for their respective roles in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. Haasan, a Rajya Sabha MP, has been actively involved in politics, while Vijay, a popular actor, recently launched his own party. The two have been mentioned as potential competitors in the upcoming election. In related news, Haasan has several upcoming projects, including an untitled film with directors Anbariv and a production venture starring Rajinikanth. Vijay's last film, The GOAT, was released in 2024, and he is set to star in H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan, which is scheduled for release during the Pongal festival in 2026.
