Kiran Rao Recovers from Emergency Surgery, Thanks Team for Care and Support

Bollywood filmmaker Kiran Rao has shared a health update after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a 12mm diameter appendix. The 'Dhobi Ghat' director took to Instagram to share photos and a video from her hospital room at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. In the post, Kiran expressed gratitude to her medical team, led by Dr. Kayomarz Kapadia, as well as her friends and family for their support during her recovery. She also shared a selfie, showcasing her swollen lips due to an allergic reaction, and a photo of her hospital name tag, which read 'Kiran Aamir Rao Khan'. Kiran thanked modern medicine for allowing her to recover from the surgery and expressed her appreciation for the care she received at the hospital. She also shared a glimpse of her first meal after discharge and expressed her hope for a better new year. Several celebrities, including Ira Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Karan Johar, wished Kiran a speedy recovery in the comments section of her post. Kiran's film 'Laapataa Ladies' was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film for the 97th Academy Awards in 2024. Kiran, who was married to actor Aamir Khan from 2005 to 2021, continues to co-parent their son, Azad. She has been active in the film industry as a director and producer, with a career spanning several notable projects.
