Following Ranveer Singh's exit from Don 3, Excel Entertainment reportedly demanded ₹45 crore to recoup pre-production losses. Suniel Shetty has defended Ranveer, questioning the culture of blacklisting and arguing that banning an artist is not the solution.

Suniel Shetty stated that nobody can ban an actor, citing the legal reality of industry disputes. He emphasized that the Supreme Court would throw out any attempt to enforce a ban.

Shetty praised Ranveer Singh's contribution to the film industry, highlighting that he has given ₹3,500 crore in revenue. He questioned why anyone would want to take action against an actor who has delivered major commercial successes.

The controversy surrounding Don 3 has grown over the past few months, with reports of creative differences and disagreements between Ranveer Singh and director Farhan Akhtar. The matter was eventually resolved after mediation by the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA).
