UP's Cinematic Dream: Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj Set to Shine in 2026 Bollywood and OTT Releases

Uttar Pradesh is all set to take center stage in the Indian film industry with a plethora of projects shot in the state ready to hit the screens in 2026. From Varanasi to Lucknow and Prayagraj, the state has emerged as a prime destination for filmmakers, with the year 2025's shoots set to make a big impact this year. Line producer Aroon Singh Dicky, based in Lucknow, has been working on two OTT series, with shoots taking place in and around the city. "We've been fortunate to explore new locations in Lucknow and Varanasi, which have added a fresh perspective to our projects," he says. Actor Eijaz Khan, who shot a crime thriller in the outskirts of Lucknow, praises the location, saying, "The mango belt is incredibly close to nature, making it a perfect setting for our film.
