Toronto: British Columbia's Premier David Eby has stated that his government has 'no information' about Indian involvement in the extortion crisis in the province.

During an interview with CTV News, Eby mentioned that he was aware of published reports linking the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to the Indian government, but stressed that 'at this point, we do not have any information.'

Eby's statement comes after a senior Canadian government official said the country no longer suspected India of foreign interference or targeted violence.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has also made efforts to reestablish national security cooperation and defence cooperation with India, including frank discussions with Indian counterparts about the killing of pro-Khalistan figure Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
