An Emirates flight bound for Dubai made a rare double reverse maneuver after being alerted of a missile attack on the UAE.
Flight EK501, which took off from Mumbai, was initially seen heading back to its departure city before resuming its route to Dubai.
The flight was held outside of UAE airspace after the ministry of defense alerted air defenses were engaging ballistic missiles launched from Iran.
The ongoing conflict in West Asia has led to limited flight operations and airspace closures, with Dubai International and Zayed International airports suffering damage from Iranian strikes.
