Hulk Hogan, the WWE icon who passed away in July 2025, revealed in his final interview that he had contemplated taking his own life during a tumultuous period in his life. In the Netflix docuseries, Hulk Hogan: Real American, Hogan candidly discussed his struggles with pain and depression after his divorce from Linda Hogan in 2009.
According to Hogan, he was taking a staggering amount of fentanyl to alleviate his pain, which his physicians had never seen before. He revealed that he was ingesting 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, and had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on his legs.
Hogan's struggles with pain and depression were exacerbated by his failing marriage, which he described as a 'dark and devastating' time in his life. He recalled a particularly difficult moment when he sat in front of his bathroom with a gun in his mouth, unsure of what he was doing.
Former wrestling executive Eric Bischoff also shared his perspective on Hogan's struggles during that period, stating that he was 'down and hurting' and in the 'darkest most devastating part of his life.'
